10 funny quiz show answers (part 11)

Contestants on TV quiz shows can win a lot of prizes ... but only if they don't give silly answers!

Thankfully, that applies to lots of contestants, as evidenced by the fact that this week the Charles Fudgemuffin blog features its eleventh round up of funny quiz show answers.

Nervous reader: "Aargh!"
Charles Fudgemuffin: "I did warn you."
However, as a warning for the first question, those of a nervous disposition should look away now...

1) "Name something that makes you scream."
"A squirrel."

2) Be very careful if you live near to this next contestant...

Les Dennis: "Other than crime, name something associated with Inspector Morse."
Contestant: "Murder."
Les Dennis: "So you don't see murder as a crime?"

3) "What does the W stand for in the term WAG?"
"Girlfriend."

Pottery.
One of your five a day, apparently.
Shouldn't that be whirlfriend?

4) "In the abbreviated names of fruit and vegetables often seen in green grocers, the term 'pots' is short for what word?"
"Pottery."

5) "Name something you would do if you won the lottery."
"Paint."

Editor's comment: "Charles, what's funny about that? Surely the first thing anyone would do if they won the lottery would be to do the decorating?"
Charles: "Not me. To be fair, I might get around to decorating at some point, but it certainly wouldn't be the first thing I did!

6) "In Disney's Snow White movie, how many dwarves were there?"
"101."

Snow White And The 101 Dwarves.
The 94th sequel to Snow White And The Seven Dwarves.

Blackbirds.
Well known for their short stubby 'long' necks, apparently,
as you can see from the photo.

7) "Name a bird with a long neck."
"Blackbird."

8) "In technology, what word goes before definition in the TV standard usually abbreviated to HD?"
"Peter."

Peter Definition!? Even if we ignore the fact that Peter Definition makes no sense whatsoever, wouldn't that be a PD television, not HD?

9) Here's one from Tipping Point...

"What book features the characters Maid Marian, Little John and Friar Tuck?"
"The Mr Men.

A steam locomotive.
Ideal for anyone looking for something to push.

10) To round things off, here's an answer from an extremely strong contestant...

"Name something you push."
"A train carriage."

"Oh no, the train - which weighs between 4,000 and 20,000 tons - has broken down again. I suppose I'll have to get out and push."

Presumably the question was answered by Superman? Or perhaps a contestant on World's Strongest Man?
