Silly multiple choice quiz (part 2)

Let's starts this week's blog post with a multiple choice question:

Can you tell me what national day it is today?"

A) National Multiple Choice Day
B) National Fudgemuffin Day
C) National Heimlich Maneuver Day
D) No, I can't.

The correct answer was C. However, if you didn't know the answer, then D was also technically correct.

An image created by AI.
However, even though today is National Heimlich Maneuver Day, and even though National Mutiple Choice Day isn't even a real thing, I'm nevertheless feeling in a rebelious mood! So for this week's blog post I've decided to feature another silly multiple choice quiz featuring a selection of random silly questions!

1) Artificial 'intelligence'

First up, take a look at this image pictured to the right which I created using AI. Can you guess what the prompt was that I used to create the image?

A) Hot air balloon floating over the mountains.
B) Beautiful waterfall surrounded by flowers.
C) Colourful scene from nature with flowers in the foreground.
D) Clever idiot.

2) Possibly may be B

Which Icelandic singer was named after a city in England?

A) Newcastle
B) York
C) London
D) Kingston Upon Hull

The Queen.

Editor's note: "Charles, that's the wrong type of 'Queen'.
Charles: "Oops, sorry!"

3) I Want To...

The next round is another music themed round, and it should be easy for fans of Queen. According to the lyrics of a popular Queen song, what did Freddie Mercury want to do?

A) Break free
B) Ride my bicycle
C) Live forever
D) Act as a test guinea pig for dangerously harmful drugs that actually did nothing to help the patient, but which did help to create massive profits for pharmaceutical corporations.

4) The Kardashians?

The next question involves a confusing headline where I've blanked out some of the words. All you have to do is guess which words complete the original headline.

"Kim taunts West by *******."

A) Giving their children silly names.
B) Playing Golddigga on repeat while simultaneously demanding money to buy more jewellery.
C) Spending the day posting selfies on her Instachat account.
D) Launching test missile over Japan.

5) Tasty strawberries

Mmm! Delicious strawberries!
I bet they taste of *****.
I love growing my own strawberries in the garden, and while I was perusing various websites which sell strawberry plants, I came across one website where the strawberries had a very distinctive taste.

This is a the quote from the website: "The fruits harvested from these climbing strawberries are huge and have the distinctive taste of *****."

Can you guess how the strawberries' taste was described?

A) Strawberries!
B) Lemons with a hint of lime.
C) Panang curry.
D) Yesteryear.

An advert for Hovis from the olden days.
I've censored the word 'indigestion'
to avoid giving the answer away.

6) Delicious Hovis

Finally, this last question features an old fashioned advert from the olden days. It's an advert for Hovis bread, and it boasts that Hovis is a cure for ... what?

A) Germs.
B) Ailments, afflictions, and other unpleasant peculiarities.
C) Warts and gangrene.
D) Indigestion.

Editor's note: "Charles, you've accidentally given the answer away in your caption to the photo!"
Charles: "I wouldn't worry. My readers are all highly intelligent*, so they would probably have guessed the right answer anyway."

* With the exception of Bob from Surrey, who is merely moderately intelligent. Sorry, Bob from Surrey if I spoiled the answer for you!

Answers:

1) Artificial 'intelligence'

Correct answer: D) Clever idiot

This was a nice easy question to start things off. As I'm sure was obvious, the AI prompt I used to create the image was 'clever idiot'.

Based on this example, I suspect that AI still has a long way to go before it's ready to conquer the world.

York.
Not all of it, obviously. It's bigger than this photo.
This is just a small part of it.

2) Possible may be B

Which Icelandic singer was named after a city in England?

Correct answer: B) York (Bjork)

The correct answer was B) York (Bjork), singer of such songs as B) achelorette, B) eautiful Mother, and one of my favourite songs, Hyper B) allad.

Eagle eyed readers may have noticed that there was a clue in the title, which was a pun based on a Bjork song.

3) I Want To...

What did Freddie Mercury want to do?

Correct answers:
A) Break free
B) Ride my bicycle
C) Live forever

Obviously we can immediately rule out answer D because pharmaceutical companies would never be involved with anything as dubious as promoting harmful drugs. That leaves three answers, and you'll be pleased to know that they were all correct, so award yourself a point whatever answer you went for!*

* As long as it was A, B or C, and not D, because once again, the scenario described in answer D is completely preposterous!

West.
Taunted by Kim.

4) The Kardashians?

"Kim taunts West by *******."

Correct answer: D) Launching test missile over Japan.

Wow! Incredibly, the correct answer is D! That's a pretty extreme measure that Kim Kardashian went to just to taunt Kanye West! And to be honest, I don't even think Kanye would be that bothered anyway. As far as I'm aware, I don't think he spends that much time in Japan.

Editor's note: "Charles, I think the headline is referring to Kim Jong Un, the North Korean president, and 'the West' is referring to the 'alliance' of Western countries ruled by traitorous megalomaniac psychopaths."
Charles: "Oh, right. So it's not Kim Kardashian and Kanye West?"
Editor: "No, it's Kim Jong Un and the West."
Charles: "Oh, right. Actually, yeah, that makes more sense now."

5) Tasty strawberries

Can you guess how the strawberries' taste was described?

Correct answer: D) Yesteryear.

I would have assumed that strawberries tasted like strawberries, but no. Apparently, they taste like yesteryear.

The uncensored advert for proof.

6) Delicious Hovis

Hovis is a cure for ... what?

Correct answer: D) Indigestion

I just included answer B (ailments, afflictions, and other unpleasant peculiarities) because that sounds like the type of language that adverts might have used in the olden days, but sadly the correct answer was the far more ordinary 'indigestion'.

I haven't seen the claims repeated in recent adverts for Hovis, but I can imagine that bread would be a fairly safe food to eat for anyone that suffered from indigestion. Anyway, whatever the benefits are, Hovis bread is definitely delicious*, so it certainly gets my approval.

* If I was a marketing dude for Hovis, then that's what I would promote. The delicious taste, rather than it being a cure for indigestion.

On a final note, if anyone reading this enjoys strawberries, then I would strongly recommend that you get a couple of strawberry plants for your garden. There's nothing better than picking and eating your own fresh strawberries from the garden!
