Teddy bear jokes and facts

My latest book 'Planet Of The Teddy Bears' was released this week, so to promote it, this week's blog post features a selection of teddy bear memes, teddy bear jokes, and random teddy bear facts.

Planet Of The Teddy Bears
by Charles Fudgemuffin

1) The world's largest teddy bear

Have you ever wondered how big the world's largest teddy bear is? Then wonder no more!

The world's largest teddy bear is a massive 55 foot tall, and is located at the Exploration Place in Wichita, Kansas.

To help you put that into perspective, a bowling lane is approximately 60 foot long, so it's almost as tall as a bowling lane is long!

So if you were planning on buying it, then I hope you've got a very big house! Also, I hope you're prepared to be disappointed, because the Exploration Place probably won't sell it.

Discaimer: Apologies to anyone who hasn't ever wondered
how big the world's largest teddy bear is. I'll try
to more accurately predict your teddy bear themed
wonderings when coming up with future facts.

2) Teddy bear joke (part 1)

Why are teddy bears never hungry?
Because they're always stuffed.

3) Accidental camouflage

Here's a teddy bear themed example of accidental camouflage.

The lizard was so well hidden that it actually took me quite a few seconds to spot it.

Editor's note: "Charles, it's a cat, not a lizard."
Charles: "Yes, I know. I was just playing a trick on the readers."

4) Multiple choice question

Next, here's a multiple choice question, so if you don't know that answer, take a guess.

What do you call a bear with no ear?

A
B
C
D

Editor's note:
"Charles, you've forgotten to type the answers."
Charles: "No, it's a joke. A bear with no ear is a B (Bear).

"Hey! Show some respect! That's the
emperor of China that you're carrying!"

5) Winnipeg The Pooh

Many people believe that Winnie the Pooh was based on Emperor Xi of China, but in actual fact Winnie the Pooh was based on a bear called Winnipeg that used to live at London Zoo. The author/creator of Winnie the Pooh, A. A. Milne, had a son who liked the bear so much that he named his fictitious bear after it.

So in actual fact the similarity between Winnie the Pooh and Emperor Xi is just a coincidence!

6) Monsters under the bed

Here's a meme to reassure any children who are nervous about going to sleep.

Teddy bears, protecting children from monsters under the bed since 1902.

Conversation from 1901:

Monster: "Ha, ha! I've been hiding under the bed, and now I'm going to scare that child!"
Teddy bear: (shrugs) "Fine by me."

7) Heartless cowards?

In case you're wondering, pre-1902 teddy bears weren't heartless cowards. The actual explanation for the previous meme is that before 1902, teddy bears didn't exist.

The first teddy bear was created in 1902 by Margarete Steiff based on a design by her nephew after taking him to the zoo.

A bear with no teeth.
Editor's note: "Actually, yes, I was wondering the significance of the 1902 reference."
Charles: "Great! I'm glad I was able to more accurately assess your teddy bear themed wonderings this time."

8) Teddy bear joke (part 2)

What do you call a toothless bear?
A gummy bear.

9) World's largest teddy bear collection

As you know, the world's largest teddy bear is 55 foot tall, but what about the world's largest teddy bear collection?

That record belongs to Jackie Miley from South Dakota who owns over 8,000 teddy bears!

To help you put that into perspective, that's more than 7,000 but less than 9,000.

10) Spot the difference

Finally, to end things on a relaxing note, here's a teddy bear themed spot the difference puzzle. There are five differences between the images. See if you can spot them all.

Can you spot the five differences between the two images?

Spoiler alert: If you get stuck, you can find the answers below.

Spot the difference solution:

1) The first teddy bear is reading Planet Of The Teddy Bears, while the second teddy bear is reading The Quiz Master.
2) The second teddy bear is wearing a crown.
3) The picture on the wall features a different image.
4) The second teddy bear has a black eye.
5) The hoop on the item on the pile of books has been deleted.

Once again, my latest book 'Planet of The Teddy Bears' is now available for kindle from Amazon.

This is the blurb...

"In the early 2080s, a manned space mission sets off on a journey to a distant exoplanet in search of life.

Four astronauts arrive on the planet only to discover that apparently, to their utter surprise, it is ruled by teddy bears!

However, they soon discover that all is not what it seems..."
