Create your own calendar wallpaper!

A new year is here and with a new year comes traditions such as making new year resolutions (in England), eating twelve grapes (in Spain), or throwing water on everybody (in Thailand). Of course, wherever you are, a new year is also the perfect occasion to create your own calendar wallpaper for your computer!

There's a great website called Calendar Labs which lets you create your own calendar wallpapers, and they do most of the work for you. You simply upload your photo, then select a few options, such as the month, where you want the calendar positioned, and wallpaper size, then click 'create wallpaper' and it resizes your photo and adds a monthly calendar.

If you're feeling lazy, I suppose you could use the same photo for every month, and quickly churn out twelve almost identical calendar wallpapers for every month of the year. Or if you prefer variety, and if you're not lazy, it only takes a few minutes to upload a different photo for each month.

Here's a set of monthly calendars that I made using some of the covers from my books and short stories...

January:

January's calendar is based on the cover to my scifi short story, The Darkness And The Light, which is set on a planet where each day lasts for the equivalent of one hundred and twenty four Earth years. As you can imagine, this leads to fluctuating valuations within the property market.

February:

A Love Story: A Coward's Tale is a short story about a cowardly boyfriend who thinks he wants to break up with his girlfriend, and its cover provides the image for February's calendar wallpaper.

March:

My most recently published short story, Two Bullets, is about a bank robbery gone wrong, and the cover features in March's calendar wallpaper.

April:

April's calendar wallpaper uses the cover from one of my older short stories, A Parcel For Your Neighbour. Despite the ominous looking photo, it's actually a (mostly) light-hearted story.

May:

The Ferociosaurus is a short story set in the future and it features an 'irresponsible' husband who foolishly orders a ferociosaurus off the internet without thinking of the consequences.

June:

June's calendar wallpaper features the cover for The Android, a short story about a boy name Jonathan and his android. An android virus is discovered which is brought on by mistreatment, but Jonathan is confident that his own android, Andy, would never be affected.

July:

July's calendar wallpaper features the cover to one of my longest named scifi themed short stories, Never Work With Children Or Animals ... Or Psychopathic Violent Criminals! The cover is based on one of the props from the short story.

August:

The cover to For The Greater Good features in August's calendar wallpaper, and it's another cover which provides a subtle clue to the storyline.

September:

As you can probably guess from the image below, We Come In Peace is a short story about an alien visitor.

October:

The cover for my light-hearted short story, Burn The Witch, seemed like an appropriately Halloween themed image to use for the calendar wallpaper for October.

November:

Ranieri And The Eight Planets is a scifi short story about time travel. The eight planets make a cool image for a book cover, and they also make a cool image for November's calendar wallpaper below.

December:

Finally, to end the year with a festive theme, December's calendar wallpaper features the cover from my Christmas themed book, Santa And The Naughty Elf. Technically, it's written by my younger brother, Charles Fudgemuffin, Jr, but I'm sure he won't mind me using it for December's calendar wallpaper.

The images for most of my book covers are from Pixabay which is a useful website for anyone looking for royalty free photos:

And of course, you don't have to use book covers for creating your monthly calendar wallpapers. You can also use normal photos as well! To demonstrate, I also made a few nature themed calendar wallpapers for January 2021 using random photos...

Once again, it only takes a few minutes to create your own calendar wallpapers, so if anyone would like to convert their own photos into a monthly calendar wallpaper for your computer, then here's the link to the Calendar Labs website:
