Cool Star Wars Websites

As all Star Wars fans are aware, May 4th is officially Star Wars Day, or May The Fourth Be With You Day, as some people call it. So before we go any further, happy Star Wars Day!

In honour of Star Wars Day, here's a round-up of various cool, and in some cases weird, Star Wars websites...
Darth Fudgemuffin

1) Star Wars Avatar

The Star Wars Avatar website lets you create your own Star Wars avatar to use as your profile photo on facebook, twitter or other social media sites.

You can choose from various species such as human, Twi-lek or Rodian (Greedo's species), and then customize your avatar with various weapons, clothes and backgrounds.

To the right, you can see my own avatar based on Darth Maul which I've named Darth Fudgemuffin.

Hare Solo and Chewbunny

2) May the bunnies be with you

If you've ever watched Star Wars and thought, 'This is good, but what would make it even better is if the whole movie was told in 30 seconds by bunnies," then you're in luck!

This next website does exactly that! It's the Star Wars movie as told by bunnies in 30 seconds.

3) Star Wars Opening Crawl Generator

Not very long ago, in the X4 quadrant of the Milky Way galaxy...
Next up is a cool website which lets you create your own version of the famous opening crawl from the Star Wars movies.

Once you've created your opening crawl, you also have the option to save your Star Wars opening crawl as a downloadable video.

Here's a version I made based on the opening book in the 'How To Save The World' saga:

And here's the link to the Star Wars Opening Crawl Generator website, for anyone who wants to create their own Star Wars opening crawl:

4) Star Wars Name Generator

As you might expect from a website entitled 'Star Wars Name Generator', this next website generates your own Star Wars name! You can either generate a totally random name, or generate one based on your own name.

My Star Wars name is Doman Corecaster, and apparently I'm a wandering trader from Kothis.

Try it yourself at the link below:

"The princess? She's here?"

5) ASCII Star Wars

'Bunny Star Wars' does a great job of condensing the entire Star Wars plot into 30 seconds, but you have to appreciate the tremendous amount of effort which must have gone into creating this next animated movie.

It's the entire Star Wars movie animated with text!

You can fast forward or rewind to your favourite scenes, or you can even watch it one frame at a time. Check out Star Wars Asciimation at the link below:

Nnnooooooooooooooooo!!!!

6) Computer says 'Nooooooooooooo!'

Finally, if you're a Star Wars fan and you're having a bad day, then head to the following website and give the big blue button a click:

nooooooooooooooo.com

As you may already have guessed, it's based on Darth Vader's famous line from Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith.

Anyone who enjoys short stories with a very loose vaguely related Star Wars theme, may enjoy my short story entitled, 'Wagon Wheels, Star Wars Memorabilia and the Nice Ham', as that has a very loose vaguely related Star Wars theme to it.

Sadly, Peter Mayhew, the man behind Chewbacca, died earlier this week, so it feels appropriate to end this week's blog post with a tribute from Harrison Ford:

"Peter Mayhew was a kind and gentle man, possessed of great dignity and noble character. These aspects of his own personality, plus his wit and grace, he brought to Chewbacca. We were partners in film and friends in life for over 30 years and I loved him. He invested his soul in the character and brought great pleasure to the Star Wars audience.

Chewbacca was an important part of the success of the films we made together. He knew how important the fans of the franchise were to its continued success and he was devoted to them. I and millions of others will never forget Peter and what he gave us all. My thoughts are with his dear wife Angie and his children. Rest easy, my dear friend..."
