Funny name changes by deed poll

Every year thousands of people in the UK change their name by deed poll. In most cases this is due to marital reasons, but in some cases it's simply people being a bit silly!

Personally, I think it's ridiculous when people change their name to something stupid! Why can't people just stick to their normal sensible names ... like myself, Charles Fudgemuffin!? **shifty eyes **

Anyway, here are just a few of the unusual names that people have changed their names to by deed poll...

1) Bacon Double Cheeseburger

Simon Smith was such a big fan of fast food that he changed his name by deed poll to Bacon Double Cheeseburger!

On the positive side, this has brought him numerous offers of free food from several fast food chains. However, on the down side, he is now considering changing it back again, as apparently his girlfriend is reluctant to marry a Cheeseburger!

2) Mr and Mrs Amazing

When Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four gained his stretching powers, he rather arrogantly decided to call himself 'Mr Fantastic'. What a bighead! However, in Reed's defence, he could stretch his body to enormous lengths, and that is pretty fantastic.

However, Reed Richards isn't the only person with a high opinion of himself. A couple from the UK decided to change their name by deed poll to 'Amazing', so they're now known as Mr and Mrs Amazing!

That's amazing! Literally!

3) Barbie Dumped Ken

Facebook have allowed users to livestream all manner of evil horrific crimes, but one 'crime' facebook are keeping us all safe from is the dangers of ... er, people who want to go by a fun name.

A lady called Sarah Niblock set up her facebook account under the name of Barbie Dumped Ken, but sadly, the fun police at facebook blocked her account and told her she had to use her real name of Sarah Niblock.

The story had a happy ending though, when to beat the miserable grumps at facebook, Sarah changed her name to Barbie Dumped Ken by deed poll!

In all seriousness, facebook need to get their priorities sorted out if they think people using a fun name is a bigger problem than people streaming evil crimes on facebook.

4) Samm Buca

A wedding dress designer changed her name by deed poll to the name of her favourite drink ... Samm Buca!

Before legally changing her name, Samm's friends used to call her Samm Buca as a nickname in reference to the fact that she liked a bit of a drink, so after a few years she thought, "Why not make it official!?"

5) Madonna, Madonna and Madonna

Three fans of Madonna decided to give themselves new names inspired by the albums and songs of Madonna.

Emma Dawson is now known as Emma Madonna Confessions On A Dance Floor McHale Dawson.

Her twin sister Lianne Dawson is now known as Lianne Madonna Vogue On The Cover Of A Magazine McHale Dawson.

And finally, their friend Gemma Mitchell is now known as Gemma Madonna True Blue Strike A Pose Carroll McHale Dawson Me Me Mitchell.

6) Happy Birthday

One man was such a big fan of birthdays that he changed his name by deed poll to Happy Birthday!

"Happy birthday to Happy Birthday!"

I wonder what his friends say to him on his birthday. Do they wish him, 'Happy birthday, Happy Birthday!' Or do they simply stick his first name and say, "Happy birthday, Happy!"

7) Pink Sparkly And All Things Nice

Charlotte Price decided to give herself a more fun name, so she changed her name by deed poll to Pink Sparkly And All Things Nice. However, Charlotte goes by the shortened name of Pink Nice, because of course her full name would be ridiculous!

Apparently, Charlotte Pink loves the colour pink, but her kids don't call her by her new name. They still call her 'mum'.

Finally, Joshua Eatwell describes himself as being obsessed with Batman, so as a tribute to his favourite super hero, he changed his name by deed poll to The Batman!

Ironically, Joshua Eatwell is very skinny so he admits his physique is nothing like Batman's. This is despite the fact that he eats well, so he's Eatwell by name, eat well by nature!

Or at least he used to be, but now he's Batman by name, eat well by nature!

I wonder if he goes by his first name 'The' or his surname 'Batman'. It would seem a bit strange referring to him as 'The', so perhaps his friends call him Batman.
