Lazy or genius? (part 2)

I was going to write a blog post this week on the subject of non-linear quantum optics and photonics, but I couldn't be bothered. So instead, I've taken inspiration from my own laziness and compiled a blog post on the theme of 'lazy of genius' memes!

1) Lazy clock

"Shall we move the clock out of the way of that pole?"
"No, I've got a better idea..."

You have to ask ... were the stick on numbers even neecessary? I mean, I'm pretty sure most people could guess what the hidden numbers were even without the numbers written on the pole.

2) Lazy treadmill

When your doctor asks you to spend at least one hour per day on the treadmill...

Editor's note: "That's unusual, Charles. Most doctors usually just pump patients full of chemicals, rather than give them useful health advice regarding lifestyle changes."
Charles: "It's not real. It's just a joke."
Editor: "Ah! That explains it!"

3) Lazy potatoes

Inquisitive person:
"Of all the ways that potatoes can be prepared, what would be your absolute favourite?"
Lazy person: "Hmm, I would have to say ... by someone else!"

4) Lazy cabinet

Why waste time assembling your new bedside cabinet when the box does just as good a job?

I would have to rule this one out from the genius category though, as they could simply have used a random empty box and saved themselves some money.

5) Lazy card

If you've got lots of celebratory events coming up, and you can't be bothered to buy a card for each different event, just buy multiple copies of the following card!

If you're sending the card to a lazy recipient, then you could even tick the box in pencil so that they can rub it out and give it to someone else later!

6) Lazy accountant

Here's a story I found on the internet about a lazy/genius* accountant.

* Delete as appropriate.

"The accountant in our office printed out 50 absolutely clean sheets on the printer. When she was asked why, she replied that she needed 50 blank sheets, and she did not want to count them manually."

On the face of it, this sounds like a genius idea. However, some of the offices I've worked in had really slow printers, so in some cases it would probably actually be quicker to count the sheets out by hand!

7) Lazy road sweepers

Definitely a lazy solution, but also an effective solution.

In their defense, this would actually be quicker than sweeping the road manually, so I would have to class this in the genius category.

8) Lazy door stop

Finally, this next example must surely be a contender for the laziest person of the year award.
