Lazy or genius?

I heard there was a National Lazy Day sometime soon, but I was too lazy to look up when it was exactly.

Anyway, National Lazy Day falls somewhere around about this time of year, so this week's blog post is based on the popular internet theme of 'lazy or genius'.

1) Lazy or genius jigsaw puzzle

Completing jigsaw puzzles can be a satisfying way to pass the time, and I'm sure whoever did this jigsaw puzzle was extremely satisfied to see the finished results of their efforts.

I particularly thought the white stripe for the horse's nose was a nice touch!

2) Lazy or genius mannequin

Here's a lazily/cleverly* prepared mannequin spotted in Target.

* Delete as appropriate.

"Duh Dum."

Were they too lazy to attach the second arm to this mannequin, or did they ingeniously think it would be a 'disarmingly' clever way to tie in with the theme of Jaws?

3) Lazy or genius fish

Here's a lazy fish hitching a ride from a bird of prey.

"Work smarter, not harder."

Fish: "Just drop me off in that pond over by the tree, please mate."
Helpful Bird: "No problem."

Editor's note: "Charles, I don't think the fish is hitching a lift. I think the bird has pounced on it for something to eat."
Charles: "Yes, I know. It was just a silly joke."
Editor: "Oops, sorry!"

4) Lazy or genius kid

This next example highlights a lazy (or genius) kid who technically answered the question correctly.

"Write a question using why."
"Why?"

Incidentally, is it just me or does that seem like an unnecessary use of a comma from whoever set the test?

5) Lazy wall

I think we can definitely rule out 'genius' for this next contender.

Whoever built that wall was a candidate for a 'lazy person of the year' award, so perhaps the caption for the photo should be 'lazy, very lazy, or extremely lazy'.

6) Lazy genius

Finally, here's an example of lazy and genius.

What a belly clever idea!

Footnote: National Lazy Day is actually on August 10th. I wasn't really too lazy to look it up. That was just a fictitious claim I used as a contrived way to link into the theme of this week's blog post.

Here's a famous quote from Albert Einstein on the subject of genius:

“Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
