Silly pie charts (part 2)

For statisticians, pie charts are a useful tool for presenting data in an easy to understand format. However, an even better use for pie charts is for making daft jokes on the internet!

With that in mind, this week the Charles Fudgemuffin blog features another collection of silly pie charts.

1) Yoda

This first pie chart owes its inspiration to the wisdom of Yoda.

"Your choices, as per Yoda."

"Do or do not, there is no try."

2) Pyramid pie chart

Here's an old silly pie chart, but it's one of my favourites, so here it is again!

A pyramid.

3) Reasons why I update software

There is nothing more frustrating than being forced to update your software, especially when it works fine, only to find that the updated version turns out to have loads of problems! So with that in mind, I can totally relate to this next silly pie chart.

"Reasons why I update software."

Software company employees have to justify their existence by replacing
software which works fine with software that doesn't work quite as fine.

4) Strength dilemma

This next pie chart asks an interesting question, and also provides a scientifically accurate answer which I'm sure most people will agree with.

"If you punch yourself and it hurts, does that make you strong or weak?"

"An idiot."
A scientifically proven factual answer.

5) Governments

As incredible as it seems, there are actually some people out there who think our governments don't always act with honorable intentions. Wow! Incredible! I can't believe anyone would ever question the integrity of our above reproach leaders and our definitely not compromised government experts who absolutely always act in our best interests. **shifty eyes**

Anyway, for the benefit of those sceptical people, this next pie chart is for you.

"Do governments have our best interests at heart?"

6) Pie charts

Finally, in an example which takes inspiration from the movie Inception, here's a pie chart about pie charts.

"The most common uses of pie charts."

If you want to make your own silly pie charts, then imgflip and meta-chart are two useful websites worth a look.
