The Android. A short story. |
The process is the same for every version of Android...
1) Go into settings.
2) Tap 'About tablet' or 'About phone'.
3) Tap 'Android version' or 'Firmware version' several times very quickly.
'Settings' / 'About tablet' / 'Android version' |
This will unlock the Easter egg wallpaper. In Android Lollipop, it looks like this:
"Wow! A screen with a lollipop on it! Amazing!" /s |
But don't worry, the actual Easter egg is better than that! That's just the initial screen. The actual Easter egg is a hidden game!
Finally, tap the lollipop several times and this will open up your hidden game. A different game is hidden in each version of the Android operating system, and they each relate to the version they're hidden in. For example, Android Jelly Bean features a Jelly Bean themed game. Android Lollipop features a lollipop themed game.
In Android Lollipop, the object of the hidden game is to guide your Android man through as many lollipop obstacles as possible. You do this by tapping the screen to give him a boost. The longer you tap, the higher he jumps. It's tricky at first but after a few games, you'll soon find that it's still tricky, but not quite as fiendishly tricky as it first seemed.
"3! Wow! I nearly beat my high score!" |
If you're using a different version of Android then you'll find a different hidden game, but as explained, the process to unlock the hidden game is the same for all Android operating systems.

My latest short story, 'The Android', is available for kindle from Amazon.
Unlike my usual stories which are generally quite silly, 'The Android' is quite a serious story, so as you may have noticed it's published under my alternative pseudonym of Charles Futch-Moffin.
