This week the Charles Fudgemuffin blog takes a look at the socio-economic impact of the introduction and subsequent widespread
adoption of advanced artificial intelligence technologies on the global
labour market.
Actually, no, it doesn't. That was a lie. Oops, caught in the act!
By a stroke of luck*, what this week's blog post actually takes a look at is other liars who were also caught in the act.
* To tell the truth, it was obviously deliberately contrived, rather than luck.
1) Wall liar
So ... it would seem you can't drive through the wall after all.

False advertising regarding the tangibility, or alleged lack thereof, of the wall.
2) Location liar
Here's a screenshot from when I tried to sign up to Netflix a few years ago...

"Watch TV shows and movies anytime, anywhere." "Sorry, Netflix is not available in your country yet." |
I was backpacking around South East Asia at the time, but even so, I'm pretty sure that even South East Asia falls within the location 'anywhere'.
3) Velocity liar
Speed bumps are a classic example of a liar caught in the act.
I mean if anything, they slow you down.
4) Rhyming liar
Whoever came up with this next far fetched claim clearly takes us all for fools.

No it doesn't!
Nursery rhymes with Justin Fletcher? Huh! It's not even close to rhyming!
If it rhymed, then surely it would be Justin Flursery.
5) Bacon liar
This is always a lie in my experience...

"Peel here? Right, so I'd better get a knife."
6) Football liar
Here's a quote from a football commentator where he exposed his own lie before he even finished his sentence!
“The ageless Ryan Giggs, who’ll be 40 in November.”
…George Hamilton
On a related note, this blog is written and compiled by the nameless Charles Fudgemuffin, who's named Charles Fudgemuffin.
7) Price liar
Over the years, I've spent many a pound at Poundland on a wide selection of bargains. However, some sharp eyed photographer caught them displaying an inaccurate sign...

"Yes, everything's £1."*
* Excludes items which cost more than £1.
In all seriousness, when you consider inflation, the prices at Poundland were always inevitably going to creep above £1 one day. They were just a bit slow updating their signs.
8) Welcoming liar
Finally, here's a very friendly greeting that perhaps is not quite as friendly as it claims...
![]() |
"Everyone is welcome!" |
"Welcome to Macedonia! The subreddit for people from or interested in Macedonia. Everyone is welcome!"
"We banned you permanently because you are Bulgarian. Have a nice day."
