Silly trick questions (part 2)

I've mentioned before that I'm a fan of trick questions, so here's another batch to get your brain around.

"Hmm, what could the answers be, I wonder?"

For some of them the answers are fairly obvious, but for others the solutions can be quite tricky. If you get stuck on any though, remember that they are trick questions.

Anyway, have a read of the following trick questions and see how many you can get right.

A trick crossword for National Puzzle Day

Today is National Puzzle Day*, so to celebrate, this week the Charles Fudgemuffin blog features a crossword puzzle.

* Only if you're reading this on January 29th. If you're reading this on any other day then it's not National Puzzle Day today. It was National Puzzle Day when I published this, though. That's what I meant. Apologies for any confusion.

This isn't any normal crossword puzzle, though. To make things a little more tricky, some of the answers are a little bit devious...

A farm.

My boss at my last job was a big fan of trick questions, and during my time working there he would often ask us quite a few puzzlers. Here are a few of those trick questions to get the brain juices flowing...

1) Bob's father has five sons named Ten, Twenty, Thirty, Forty and...  What was the fifth son called?


2) A farmer owns a square farm measuring five miles long by five miles wide.  He walks a lap of his land to check the fence, and it takes him eighty minutes to walk the first side, eighty minutes to walk the second side, and eighty minutes to walk the third side.  However, it takes him one hour and twenty minutes to walk the fourth side.  Why?
