Funny horse names: A true or false quiz (part 2)

This weekend sees the Grand National take place, which for the benefit of non-English people is the biggest horse race of the year in England.

Although I'm not really interested in horse racing, I do appreciate some of the amusing names that some horses have. This week's blog post therefore has a horse racing theme in the form of a quiz. Take a look at the following horse names, and try to decide if they are real actual horse names, or whether they're just a daft fictitious invention that I made up.

1) Hoof Hearted

Hoof Hearted denies being responsible for the suspicious smell.
Back in the early 2000s, there was a South African horse with the rather immature name Hoof Hearted.

In case you're wondering why exactly Hoof Hearted was an immature name, ask yourself what question you would ask if there was an unpleasant smell?

Hoof Hearted?

True or false?

2) Whinny Houston

Apparently, after it retired from horse racing, this horse went on to have a successful career as a singer. It was famous for the hits, 'I Want To Prance With Somebody', 'How Will I Neigh?' and 'Saving All My Hay For You'. #NotReally

True or false?

3) Canter-Bury Tales

With a name like that, surely this horse would win at a canter!

True or false?

4) Odor In The Court

"Odor! Odor in the court!
Whenever I pass horses when I'm out for a walk on some of the nature trails near where I live, they always seem to be quite smelly. Odor In The Court therefore seems like a very appropriate name for a horse.*

* Well, at least it would be if horses hung out in courts, which they don't admittedly.

I wonder if it was related to Hoof Hearted!

True or false?

5) Amanda Hug'N'Kiss

Presumably Bart Simpson named this horse, as it sounds like the sort of made up name he would use in one of his prank phone calls to Moe the bartender.

True or false?

6) The Fast and the Furriest

Apparently, The Fast And The Furriest was famous for taking the corners a little too close and doing flashy jumps at the finish line. #NotReally

Being serious, this horse had seven career wins, so it certainly lived up to its name and had horse power that left its competition in the dust!

True or false?

Anakin Sky-Galloper

7) Maythehorsebewithu

This horse will be with you ... always.

Whoever owns this house is obviously a big Star Wars fan!

True or false?

8) Oi

Apparently this horse was very badly behaved and was always getting told off by its owner for doing things it shouldn't.

True or false?

9) Aweemaweh

Presumably this horse can be found in the jungle, the quiet jungle, next to the sleeping lion.

True or false?

"Don't look!"

10) Gift Horse

If this horse ever has dental problems, then it may face difficulties when it goes to see its dentist.

True or false?

That's the end of the quiz. Scroll down the page to discover which of the above were real horses, and which were fake names that I just made up...

The Fast And The Furriest in action.
Odor In The Court, The Fast And The Furriest and Oi were fake horse names. All the rest were real horses.

However, if you want to nitpick, then Canter-Bury Tales doesn't actually have a hyphen in its name (which is a missed opportunity if you ask me), so as I'm feeling in a generous mood, award yourself a point whether you said true or false.

Also, Oi is the name of a real horse track in Japan, so it wasn't entirely made up.
