Happy animals

I've heard it said that happiness can be contagious, so this week I'm going to put that theory to the test with a collection of happy animal photos. Take a look at the following happy animal photos, and then if the theory is true, hopefully they'll leave you feeling a little bit happier yourself.

1) Happy dog

I must admit I love ice cream, and eating it always makes me happy. However, it doesn't make me quite as happy as this extremely happy ice cream eating dog...

This is no exagerration to say that I don't think the dog could possibly look any more happy. I think he's right at the limit of dog happiness.

2) Happy baby owl

This baby owl has to be a contender for the happiest baby owl in the world. Just look at the contentment in his face.

Obviously pet cats and pet dogs love getting attention, but it's weird to learn that wild birds also apparently love getting attention too.

3) Happy hedgehog

Hedgehogs aren't an animal I would usually associate with having emotionally expressive faces, but this next hedgehog made me rethink my previous position.

Look at its happy face! It's almost as if it was told to smile for the camera.

"Say cheese!"

4) Happy pug

One of my parents' pugs loves treats, and being given tasty treats always makes him happy, just like most pugs I would imagine. However, their other pug, rather bizarrely, loves pebbles, so you can imagine how happy she was when they were on holiday and they discovered an entire beach made of pebbles!

Or if you can't imagine it, then don't worry, because to help you picture how happy she was, here's a photo of her looking happy in her new pebble surroundings.

"Wow! An entire beach filled with pebbles! This is the best day of my life!"

5) Happy monkey

This next monkey obviously loves oranges, because look how happy he is when the car driver gives him an orange.

"For me? Oh, you're too kind!"

Apparently, the monkey knocked on his car window looking hungry, so the car owner gave him an orange. He then saw the monkey going off to show his monkey mates, and it seemed as if he was telling them, "Hey dudes, that car over there is giving out free oranges!"

That's just what I read on the internet, so I don't know how accurately it's been reported, but it's a nice story anyway.

6) Happy seal

To end things on yet another happy note, here's an extremely happy seal photo-bombing a group of penguins.

It's hard to tell whether the penguins are also happy. Perhaps they are, but even if they're not, the seal looks as if he has enough happiness to go around for all of them.

Which was your favourite happy animal? Actually, I don't know why I'm asking that, because this is the internet, so I won't be able to hear you even if you respond. Although, I suppose you could leave a comment.

Anyway, I hope that the theory of happiness being contagious proved to be true and that these photos of happy animals helped spread their happiness to readers.

Sticking with the theme of happiness, my short novella 'Peanuts, Gold And Happiness' is available for kindle from Amazon.
