Faces in things

Pareidolia sounds like it's a horrible tropical disease, but it's actually something far nicer. Pareidolia is simply the phenomenon of seeing faces (or other items) in everyday objects and patterns.

Here are a few examples of pareidolia...

1) Wooden dog

Here's a dog's face hiding in a piece of wood.

This wood has no bark. Or does it?

2) Washed up washing machine

This washing machine doesn't look like it's feeling too well...

The eyes kind of remind me of Cookie Monster.

3) Hungry house

The towels hanging on the washing line and over the seats make this house look like it has a big hungry toothy mouth.

I can just picture the house saying, "Feed me!"

4) Muffin mouse

This muffin looks like it has a mouse hidden inside it.

5) Dancing cactus shadow

Here's a pretty cool dancing cactus.  The actual cactus looks a bit weird, but his shadow looks like he's really getting enthusiastically into the dance.

"Shake your hands in the air, like you just don't care."

6) Miserable aubergine

Or for the benefit of our American viewers, a miserable eggplant.
