Guess the band or song

Sadly for fans of music, the Grammy Awards take place tomorrow, an event where fake talentless sell-outs all give themseves a big undeserved pat on the back.

However, although I'm not a fan of the Grammys, it does nevertheless provide the perfect excuse to feature a cryptic music quiz on the Charles Fudgemuffin blog!

Take a look at the following visual clues and see if you can guess the name of the band or song that the picture is based on.

Disclaimer: All of the bands and songs are from decades gone by, so if you're a young person then you may need to ask an old person for some help with some of the clues.

1) 80s band

To start things off, this first photo is a clue to a rock band from Sheffield who were popular in the 80s.

Editor: "What?"
Charles: "I said, 'This first photo is a clue to a rock band from Sheffield who were popular in the 80s."

2) 60s song

Next up, we have an age related song by The Beatles.

When giving your answer, please indicate precisely what you mean to say.

3) 80s song

This next clue relates to a song from the 80s, which was sung by an organisation for people with an interest in the arts and society.

Editor: "This is a tricky one."
Charles: "Come on! You must know it! What sort of man are you!?"
Editor: "I'm a man who doesn't know ... the answer."

4) 80s band

If you're struggling with the quiz so far, then good news! This next visual clue is extremely easy! It's a photo of two shops which form the name of a synth-pop duo from the 80s

Putting these two shops next to each other, it's a sin.

5) 60s song

I was feeling overly generous with the previous clue, so to balance things out, this next clue is a lot trickier. It's another song by The Beatles, and seeing as how it's so tricky, I've included several photos to help you.

Editor: "I'm stuck. Can you give me a clue?"
Charles: "No, no no, no no no no! No no no no!"

If you're still stuck then what are the animals all doing? Also, I may have taken a few liberties with the exact pronounciation.

6) 80s band

Finally, let's round things off with a clue involving toilet paper...

It's another 80s band, so apologies once again to any younger readers who can't sleep at night and feel like they've got to run away.

7+ = I'm sorry, but they're were only six questions, so either you can't count, or you're a blatant cheat! But don't worry, your 'talents' make you the ideal candidate for a job working as a vote counter at the next US, French or Brazilian presidential elections!
