That's because this week the Charles Fudgemuffin blog takes a look at answers which were perhaps not what you expected, but nevertheless, technically true.
1) Weight loss truth
To start things off, here's a rather extreme weight loss method...
"What's the fastest way you've ever lost weight?"
"Got a leg amputated."
On a similar note, many years ago when I was in Africa I caught malaria, and that also led to very fast weight loss, although not quite as fast as getting a leg amputated thankfully.
Legal disclaimer: The Charles Fudgemuffin blog strongly advices against getting your leg amputated or catching malaria as a way of losing weight. If I wanted to lose weght, I would personally try regular exercise and avoiding man-made processed foods, although that's not legal advice. That's just common sense.
2) Football truth
Here's a quote from Alan Hansen which is often ridiculed, but nevertheless, technically true.
"You will never win anything with kids."
...Alan Hansen
It remains true to this day. No team of children has ever won a major football trophy in the English top tier.
3) Numeric truth
I suspect this wasn't the answer the teacher was looking for...
"Find the difference between 8 and 6."
"Eight is all curly, six is not."
To be fair, six is also a little bit curly, but I decided to let this one in anyway for creative effort.
4) Time truth (part 1)
Why do people complain less in February?
Because it only has twenty eight days.
5) Travel truth
This probably wasn't the answer she was thinking of, but nevertheless, it was absolutely correct.
"On my way to the airport. Can you guess where I'm going?"
"The airport?"
I mean come on, Molly! You gave the answer away!
6) Watery truth
If everybody in the world held hands around the equator...
...most of them would drown!
7) Ageing truth
If you've ever wondered why people get grey hair, then wonder no more!
"People get grey hair because...
...they are dying."
If you want a more detailed explanation, it's because hair colour is determined by melanin, and as we get older, our body's ability to produce melanin decresases. Personally though, I preferred the brutal honesty of the first answer.
Also, I love the happy smiling face that they've drawn to go with it!
8) Time truth (part 2)
How many seconds are there in a year?
Twelve. January 2nd, Febryary 2nd, March 2nd...
Editor's note: "That was only three seconds."
Charles: "Our readers are very intelligent, so I assumed that they'd be able to extrapolate from incomplete data."
Editor: "What about Bob from Milton Keynes? I wouldn't say Bob was intelligent."
Charles: "Okay, fair point. Bob from Milton Keynes might not be able to extrapolate from incomplete data, so for the benefit of Bob, here's the complete answer: January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 2nd, May 2nd, June 2nd, July 2nd, August 2nd, September 2nd, October 2nd, Novembe 2nd, December 2nd."
9) Movie truth
Finally, here's a film description of The Wizard Of Oz which has to be one of the best movie descriptions ever.
"The Wizard Of Oz - Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again."
- - - - - - - - - -
Legal disclaimer: If by some random chance there is someone called Bob reading this who happens to live in Milton Keynes, then please realize that the reference to 'Bob from Milton Keynes' was just intended as a joke. It was not intended to refer to your actual intelligence level, which I'm sure is perfectly adequate.
