Funny signs (part 1)

From time to time I feature funny signs on the Charles Fudgemuffin blog, so here's another selection, starting with a sign which carries an important message...

1) Wise advice (part 1)

The message is true, but nevertheless, I can't help wondering, who is this sign intended for?

"It's never too late to learn to read."

2) How does this work?

"Speed bumps ahead. When children are present."

So what happens when children aren't present?  Do the speed bumps magically disappear?

3) Wise advice (part 2)

"Welcome to Cornwall. When it's hot, please dress for the body you have, not the body you want. Thanks."

Sadly, this cautionary note doesn't just apply to Cornwall.

4) Road workers with a sense of humour

Obey the speed limit, or else!

5) The caring society

Harsh but true.

6) Chimney repair

Finally, the porch repair looks pretty good, but I'm not too impressed with the chimney 'repair'...
